"Dickens talk was excellent"
A review of Barrow Boy & Banker by Len Dyer - Tuesday 23rd of June 2009
My partner and I went to one of the Charles Dickens talks they do on Mondays, and we thought it was fab. The pub served good, old fashioned ale, and we enjoyed all we heard about what life was like in London in the last century, and just how important Charles Dickens was.

Yes, it's a quiz by Charles Dickens, hosted by Charles Dickens...at the Dickens Inn. In short, this is a quiz that is so Dickensian it might very well be thrown into the Fleet Prison uttering a mellifluous stream of unnecessary adjectives for pick-pocketing a destitute road sweeper called Mr Bumblesnook. But before that happens, settle down on 1 September to enjoy the 'Twist with Dickens' quiz at the Charles Dickens pub in St Katherine's Docks. Teams should consist of four or fewer people and we're promised 'Questions about London today and yesterday'. There are two opportunities to join in, at 6pm and 8pm, with entry just £3 each. The evening will be hosted by Mr Christopher West, almost certainly one of the top 1000 Charles Dickens impersonators in the world. In fact, he's so good that we've cornered him into hosting the Londonist quiz on 1 October. But that is a tale for another day...

I am an American visiting London and saw Chris West doing his talk introducing Charles Dickens and life on Monday. I couldn’t believe it could have been so interesting and i learn so much in a fascinating and enjoyable way. I then had a beer and pie and am now looking forward to his next show at the same place called the Twist with Dickens Quiz. Do join me everyone. Unlike his more serious talk he told me the quiz qould be just fun gentle questions about London’s history.
